Raul Ayala

Raul Ayala is a Lecturer in the Arts, Culture and Media department at Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University. A visual artist and educator, his practice interrogates normative historical frameworks and coloniality through collaborative, co-creative processes that combine diverse primary sources.

• Education: MFA from Mason Gross School of the Arts (2020) with full merit scholarship

Research Focus: Ayala specializes in mural production, drawing, and public art that challenges historical narratives and engages community-driven methodologies.
