معرفی
Ratul Das is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford, focusing on hydrogen embrittlement in steel pipelines and liquid transport in porous media.
His educational qualifications are:
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering, University of Cambridge (2023)
- Master's degree, University of British Columbia (2019)
- Bachelor's degree, Indian Institute of Technology (2016)
Dr. Das's research addresses hydrogen embrittlement, a century-old problem critical for hydrogen infrastructure. He develops finite element models to predict safe hydrogen transport conditions and assess storage integrity. His work on liquid transport in porous media has applications from building damp to groundwater. This research supports the UK's hydrogen economy and net zero goals.
He leads a Shell-funded project on hydrogen embrittlement in dented steel pipelines, investigating hydrogen-strain-defect interactions.
Dr. Das is part of the Mechanics of Materials research group and collaborates with Dr. Emilio Martinez-Paneda.
