Rasool Erfani

Dr. Rasool Erfani is a Senior Lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU), leading the Modelling and Digital Twin theme within the Smart Infrastructure & Industry Research (SIIR) Group. His research focuses on plasma engineering, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and experimental fluid dynamics, with applications in environmental science, healthcare, and resource management. He holds an honorary Associate Professor position at University College London (UCL).

Dr. Erfani has secured significant grants, including a £600k NIHR-i4i grant for a vocalisation device for tracheostomised patients and three Innovate UK-KTP grants totaling £550k. These projects address industrial challenges such as leak detection in water systems and SF6-free air quality assessment.
