Rasmus Kaae Dehli is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Biotechnology and Biomedicine at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), specializing in Disease Systems Immunology and part of the DTU Microbes Initiative. His research focuses on the interplay between gut microbiome dynamics and immune system development during early life.
His research interests span Immunology, Microbiology, Systems Immunology, Gut Microbiome, and Early Life Immunity. Dehli investigates how microbial communities shape immune programming during infancy, with particular focus on non-communicable disease trajectories and antibiotic resistance development. His work integrates systems biology approaches to understand the complex interactions between host immunity and microbial communities.
Analysis of his recent publications reveals a strong trend toward understanding temporal dynamics in early-life immune development, with emphasis on regulatory T cells, gut resistome formation, and immunoglobulin interactions with intestinal bacteria. His research bridges computational biology with experimental immunology to uncover fundamental mechanisms of immune programming.
Dehli completed his Ph.D. in December 2024 with the thesis 'Temporal dynamics in early-life regulation of non-communicable disease trajectories' under the supervision of Professor Susanne Brix. His doctoral project 'Spatio-temporal immunological characterization of relevance in life-style related diseases' (2020-2024) examined homeostasis, dynamics, Bifidobacterium, Immunoglobulin E, and infancy in relation to lifestyle diseases.
He is actively involved in the Disease Systems Immunology research group and the DTU Microbes Initiative, where his work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and well-being. His research has been featured in multiple news outlets and has garnered attention across academic social media platforms including X (formerly Twitter) and Mendeley.
