Dr. Rashida Lathan is an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Glasgow's School of Cardiovascular & Metabolic Health. Her research focuses on renal fibrosis mechanisms, regenerative medicine applications in organ preservation, and innate immune responses to viral infections. She collaborates extensively with institutions globally and has contributed to systematic reviews in transplantation medicine.
Research Interests:
- Unconventional targets in renal fibrosis
- Stem cell-based therapies for organ preservation
- Ex-vivo normothermic perfusion optimization
- Innate immunity in viral pathogenesis
Publications highlight interdisciplinary work bridging immunology, nephrology, and translational medicine. Her 2024 Frontiers in Physiology paper investigates novel fibrosis pathways, while 2017 Scientific Reports work elucidates Rift Valley Fever immune dynamics.
No academic awards listed. Collaborates with teams at Glasgow and international partners on regenerative medicine and transplantation innovation.
