Rashelle Matthiesen-Anderson holds the position of Research Scientist I in the Department of Plant Pathology, Entomology, and Microbiology at Iowa State University. Her work focuses on corn and soybean seedling diseases, with a strong emphasis on nutrient management and cover crop applications. She leads projects exploring nitrogen rate adjustments to mitigate corn yield drag and disease implications following cereal rye cover crops, as well as assessing spatial and temporal separation strategies for cover crops to reduce nutrient loss while maintaining corn yields.
- Projects (2023–2022):
- Can adjustments to nitrogen rates reduce corn yield drag and disease implications following a cereal rye cover crop?
- Assessing the effectiveness of spatial and temporal separation of a cereal rye cover crop from corn on nutrient reduction and corn yield
