Rashedur Chowdhury is a Professor at the Essex Business School (EBS), University of Essex, with honorary affiliations at the Batten Institute (University of Virginia) and UCD Earth Institute. His research focuses on the dynamic relationship between firms and marginalized groups, combining critical management studies, postcolonial theory, and social justice.

His empirical work spans HIV/AIDS medication access, Rana Plaza collapse, Rohingya refugee camps, and transgender violence, emphasizing immersive fieldwork in marginalized spaces. His 2017 article on Rana Plaza became one of the most downloaded from Journal of Management Studies, while his 2022 article on epistemic neocolonialism surpassed 12,000 downloads without social media promotion.
