His research interests span Arabic and English literature, translation studies, the sociology of literature, cultural and intercultural studies, creative writing, and Islamic philosophy. His doctoral work specifically investigates self-translation from Arabic into English as a socially situated practice, analyzing sociological motivations and constraints. His research bridges literary creativity and academic rigor, with a strong emphasis on practical translation training and publishing.
His recent publications and projects show a strong trend in literary translation, particularly bringing major English-language academic and literary works into Arabic through Athra Publishing House, which he founded. The translated works span philosophy, artificial intelligence, sociology, psychology, and children's literature, indicating interdisciplinary engagement. His own creative works in Arabic explore identity, voice, and existential themes.
He is an active member of the academic community, holding an Associate Fellowship in Higher Education and certified membership in TAFL (Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language). He is also affiliated with the British Association of Teachers of Arabic (BATA).
