Rasel Ahmed is an Assistant Professor of Theatre, Film, and Media Arts at The Ohio State University. His work bridges experimental and documentary filmmaking, using cinematic techniques to explore themes of displacement, citizenship, and identity. He combines participatory documentation, archival research, and collaborative re-enactment in his creative process.

Research & Practice: Ahmed’s work focuses on gender, sexuality, migration, and political organizing. He uses film to interrogate psychogeography, visual metaphor, and the dialogical relationship with displacement. His projects include founding Bangladesh’s first LGBT magazine Roopbaan and running a transnational queer archive.
