Raquel Romar Andres

Raquel Romar Andres is a Lecturer in the Physiology Department at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Murcia (UM), since 2005. She holds a Veterinary Medicine degree (1996) and a European Doctorate (2001) from UM. Her research focuses on reproductive biology, including oviductal fluid effects on gametes, 3D cellular models for in vitro fertilization, and biofluid applications in embryo development. She co-founded EmbryoCloud SL (2021), a tech spin-off developing embryo culture media. She is an ANECA-accredited Professor and leads regional/national research and transfer projects.

Research highlights include an international patent (WO 2016/055681) on biofluids and 3D models using silica beads for sperm binding studies. She has supervised 7 doctoral theses, 8 bachelor's, and 37 master's projects. Teaching roles include the Veterinary Degree program and advanced master's/PhD programs in reproductive biology.

Professional affiliations include the Murcian Institute of Biomedicine (IMIB), the EMBRYOCLOUD knowledge transfer group, and the 2019 AETE Conference Organizing Committee. Her global collaborations span Japan, Mexico, Germany, France, and the US, supported by grants from Japanese/Spanish ministries and JSPS.
