Alberto Huertas Celdrán is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Information and Communication Engineering, University of Murcia, Spain, and a Postdoctoral Researcher associated with the Communication Systems Group at the University of Zurich. He holds M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from the University of Murcia. His research focuses on cybersecurity, federated learning, and brain-computer interface (BCI) security. He has led and contributed to numerous high-impact projects funded by entities like the European Commission, including DEFENDER, EU-GUARDIAN, and SAFEMAN.
Key projects include developing frameworks for cybersecurity in smart factories (CYBERTY), resilient IoT device securization (RESERVE), and AI-based cyber defense automation (EU-GUARDIAN). His work spans malware detection, privacy-preserving systems, and decentralized federated learning platforms like Fedstellar. He has published extensively in top venues, including IEEE journals and conferences.
Huertas Celdrán has received awards such as the FPI Scholarship (2014) and PostDoc Fellowship (2018) from the Séneca Foundation. He teaches courses in cybersecurity and contributes to research chairs like CyberDataLab. His current research emphasizes secure AI, BCI cybersecurity, and resilient IoT ecosystems.
