Raquel Lynne Jimenez is a Lecturer on Education and Co-Chair of the Arts and Learning Concentration at Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE). Her interdisciplinary research explores how artmaking practices address sociopolitical challenges, particularly urban gentrification and spatialized injustice. She holds a postdoctoral appointment with the Social Science Research Council’s Arts Research with Communities of Color initiative.
Her book project Taking Up Space: Youth Culture and Creative Resistance in a Changing City examines youth-led creative interventions in marginalized communities. Jimenez’s work has been supported by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, Massachusetts Cultural Council, and others. She has contributed to journals like Harvard Educational Review and Curriculum Inquiry, and her approach to arts-based public pedagogy was profiled by the Boston Globe.
