Dr Raphaela Rohrhofer is a Research Fellow at the University of St Andrews' School of English. Her research focuses on contemplative literature and art in the late medieval period, with specializations in Julian of Norwich, Margery Kempe, and manuscript studies. She holds a DPhil from the University of Oxford and has received extensive funding including from the Leverhulme Trust and AHRC.

Her current projects include 'Contemplative Nothingness in the Late Medieval British Isles and Beyond,' a Leverhulme-funded study exploring divine ineffability across global medieval traditions. She has co-edited a special issue of Medieval Feminist Forum and contributed to Cambridge Companions on medieval mystics.
