Prof. Dr. Raphaela Porsch is a Professor of School Pedagogy and General Didactics at the University of Vechta since October 2024. She previously held a W2 Professorship for Educational Sciences with a focus on General Didactics at Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg (2019–2024) and served as a temporary W3 Professor at Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg (2017–2018).
- Current roles: Deputy Head of Department of Educational Sciences, Deputy Director of the Center for Teacher Education (ZfLB), Scientific Director of the Competence Center for Regional Teacher Training Vechta (KVEC), and Chair of the Master of Education Examination Board.
- Research interests: General didactics, school and teaching research, teacher education, professional research, foreign language pedagogy, teacher shortages, digital skills of teachers, teaching outside subject areas, inclusive education, and school supervision.
- Leadership: Co-directs the Teaching out-of-field/Teaching Across Specializations OOF-TAS Collective and the Teaching Across Specializations network with Prof. Linda Hobbs.
Scientific Awards:
- Awarded the Posterpreis der AEPF/KBBB in 2017 for a review on extended practical phases in teacher education.
- Received the Posterpreis Tag der Bildungsforschung 2025 for research on digital competence beliefs of primary EFL teachers.
Professional Networks: Board member of the International Society for School Practice Studies and Professionalization (IG-SP), member of the German Society for Educational Science (DGfE), and editorial board member of the journal Teacher Education Under Scrutiny.
