Dr. Raouf Alebshehy is a public health consultant and Managing Editor of TobaccoTactics.org, part of the Tobacco Control Research Group (TCRG) at the University of Bath. He leads efforts to monitor and counter tobacco industry influence, contributing to global public health policies. His academic background includes a PhD in Public Health from Bielefeld University (2025), alongside postgraduate studies in Research Ethics, Nutrition, and Healthcare Reform.

His research focuses on tobacco control policies, global health governance, and health systems strengthening. Recent work analyzes retail environment regulations, public perception of tobacco policies, and wartime health strategies in Palestine. He employs advanced data science methods, such as NLP, to study public sentiment around tobacco products.
- Awards: WHO World No Tobacco Day Award (2024), University of Bath’s Recognising Excellence Award (2022-2025), and the John Griffith Prize (2016).
As a leader in STOP (global tobacco watchdog network), he collaborates internationally to counter industry interference. His work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals for health and well-being (SDG 3) and partnerships for global goals (SDG 17).
