Rania Said is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Modern Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at UMass Boston. She holds a PhD and MA in Comparative Literature from Binghamton University and a BA in English Literature from institutions in Tunisia.

Her research focuses on Tunisian literature, francophonie, urban dissent, and women's narratives in the Arab Uprisings. She explores intersections of gender, politics, and cultural memory in postcolonial contexts.
Recent publications examine symbolic urban resistance and gendered life narratives during the Arab Spring. Her work appears in the Journal of Romance Studies and the Encyclopedia of Women and Islamic Cultures, with a forthcoming chapter on Tunisian authors in the Transmediterranean Francophonies edited volume.
