Randy Moate serves as Associate Professor of Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) Program Coordinator at Baldwin Wallace University. Previously, he held faculty positions at the University of Texas at Tyler where he coordinated the CMHC program for three years.

Moate's research centers on teaching methodologies in counselor education and the dynamics of stress, perfectionism, and coping in clinical populations. He maintains a reciprocal relationship where teaching questions inspire research, and research findings enhance pedagogical practices. His clinical work employs existential, person-centered, and mindfulness-based approaches with adolescents and adults facing depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, and identity challenges.
A passionate educator, Moate designs experiential learning activities to bridge classroom theory with real-world counseling practice. He emphasizes developing students' reflective capacity and personal counseling identity through applied skill-building. His scholarship includes numerous peer-reviewed publications and over 20 national and regional presentations advancing counselor education and clinical practice.
