Randy Hummel is a Visiting Adjunct Professor of Law at the College of Law, Nova Southeastern University (NSU). He has a distinguished career in legal prosecution, education, and military service.

Hummel’s professional expertise spans criminal law, federal prosecution, appellate advocacy, and judicial training. He pioneered the CARE (Court Assisted Reentry) Court initiative in the Southern District of Florida, focusing on post-incarceration reintegration for offenders. His work emphasizes legal education through mentoring federal prosecutors and teaching foundational lawyering skills to law students.
In his 34-year tenure as an Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA), he handled complex federal criminal cases, authored appellate briefs, and argued before the Eleventh Circuit. He held leadership roles as First Assistant and Executive Assistant U.S. Attorney, later serving as Senior Litigation Counsel to develop training programs for prosecutors.
