Randy Dryer is a Professor of Law (Lecturer) at the S.J. Quinney College of Law and Presidential Honors Professor in the Honors College at the University of Utah. He holds a BS in Communications/Journalism (1972) and JD (1976) from the University of Utah. His expertise spans media law, privacy, and litigation, with notable recognition including the 2024 Distinguished Faculty Service Award and 2021 University Distinguished Teaching Award.
Teaching focuses on pretrial practice, judicial process, and social media law. He has served on the University of Utah Board of Trustees for 17 years and currently chairs the Salt Lake Tribune Board of Directors. His leadership roles include the Salt Lake Olympic Committee and Utah Sports Authority. Personal interests include yoga, biking, and hiking.
