Dr. Randolph Coffey is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of General Dentistry at East Carolina University's School of Dental Medicine and serves as Director of the Spruce Pine Community Service Learning Center. He holds an MS in Oral Biology from George Washington University, a DMD from the University of Florida, and completed residencies at National Naval Medical Center and Great Lakes Naval Hospital.
His research focuses on dental biomaterials and clinical applications in comprehensive dentistry. Recent work explores innovative disinfection methods to replace formalin, emphasizing clinical safety and efficiency. Awards include the 2019 Frank 'Buddy' Boris Award for distinguished service to the American Board of General Dentistry and the USPHS Senior Clinician Dental Award.
