Randa Serhan is an Associate Professor of Sociology at Columbia University, affiliated with Barnard College. Her work focuses on ethnicity, migration, urban sociology, and the experiences of Arab Americans. She holds a Ph.D. from Columbia University (2009), an M.A. from the University of Windsor (1998), and a B.A. from the American University of Beirut (1994).

Her research examines citizenship, nationalism, and cosmopolitanism, particularly among Palestinian Americans and transnational communities. Her recent work includes studies on Black-Palestinian solidarity movements and the cultural dynamics of diasporic identity.
Her publications include books under contract with Stanford University Press and Academica Press (2021), focusing on Palestinian American identity and solidarity movements. She has received grants from institutions like the National Endowment for the Humanities and the New World Research Institute.
