Randa Duvick is a Senior Research Professor in the Department of World Languages and Cultures at Valparaiso University. Her academic career spans decades, focusing on French literature, dialectology, and the historical French presence in the North American Midwest. She has taught courses ranging from French phonetics to Francophone African literature and served as department chair for twelve years.
- Education: B.A. from Luther College, M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Chicago.
Her research interests include 19th-Century French Literature, French-language pedagogy, and the history of French traders in the Midwest. She has published extensively on figures like Joseph Bailly and contributed to understanding Francophone influences in the U.S. Midwest. Professor Duvick is also an active member of professional organizations such as the American Association of Teachers of French and the Modern Language Association.
