Rana Khazbak

Rana Khazbak is an ESRC Postdoctoral Fellow at the School of Education, Communication & Society (ECS) at King's College London. She serves as a co-investigator for the ESRC-funded study Young Lives, Young Futures and is affiliated with the Centre for Public Policy Research (CPPR) at King's, CASE at London School of Economics, and the Rights Lab at the University of Nottingham.

• PhD in Social Policy from the London School of Economics

Her research examines how social structures, policies, and institutional practices produce inequalities affecting children and young people. Key areas include:

• Youth wellbeing in mixed-income social housing communities
• Structural competency frameworks for addressing exploitation
• Place-based drivers of economic inactivity and poverty
• Child participation in urban regeneration policy
• Intersectional impacts of ethnicity, gender, and class

Rana employs participatory methodologies to center marginalized youth voices in both academic research and policy development. She has conducted fieldwork with Roma communities and explored welfare reform impacts on larger families.
