Ramy Shaltout is an Assistant Professor at the CEES School of The Environment. His expertise spans railway engineering, mechanical systems, and sustainable transportation infrastructure. He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (2013) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice from Coventry University (2023). His research focuses on aerodynamic noise reduction in high-speed trains, railway track dynamics, and smart infrastructure solutions.

He leads the Transport Safety and Security project (2024–2025) and has held roles at The German University of Cairo (2019–2011) and Newcastle University (2014–2016).
