Rami Grossberg is a Professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Carnegie Mellon University. His research focuses on model theory, particularly the classification theory for abstract elementary classes (AECs), with applications to algebra and set theory. He directs the Model Theory Seminar and supervises doctoral students in logic and combinatorial set theory.
His educational background includes a Ph.D. from Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Research explores structural properties of AECs, with emphasis on Shelah's categoricity conjecture and main gap theorem. Work includes developing forking notions for AECs and extending classification beyond first-order axiomatizable classes.
Key awards include the Lakonishok Fellowship, Van Arsdell Teaching Award, and Kauffman Foundation Research Grant. He has authored over 60 publications advancing stability theory and mathematical logic.
