Ramesh Vahidi is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Project Management at the Kent Business School, University of Kent, since November 2022. She previously held roles at Southampton University (2012–2022) and Northumbria University, including Assistant Professor and researcher. Her academic journey includes a PhD from Northumbria University on trade-off decisions in projects, recognized by the Major Projects Association (MPA), and dual MSc in International PM from Northumbria and Chalmers University.
Her research focuses on critical project decisions, ethics in PM, responsible leadership, and interdisciplinary collaboration between PM and Operations Research (OR). Notable contributions include a PMI-funded study on ethical leadership and organizing the first Contemporary PM stream at the OR63 conference. She has published in journals like Production Planning & Control and authored book chapters on ethical research in PM.
Ramesh is a Fellow of Advance HE and an Ambassador for the Responsible Project Management (RPM) manifesto. She has collaborated with professional bodies like APM and Major Projects Association, delivering CPD trainings and serving on committees. Her teaching emphasizes analytical thinking and practical PM knowledge, with modules like Project Management Offices and Strategic Portfolio Management. She has supervised over 200 students, including award-winning supervisees, and mentored PhD candidates.
Her professional activities extend to art exhibitions addressing academic themes, including a people’s choice award-winning installation on women in academia. Grants include a school-funded interdisciplinary study on work-life balance for PMs and a £50,000 grant review role.
