Prof. Dr. Ramazan Akdoğan is a Professor at Anadolu University's Institute for Disabled Persons Research, Department of Educational Sciences. He has been serving in this position since 2024, having previously held the positions of Associate Professor (2018-2024) and Assistant Professor (2013-2018) at Anadolu University's Faculty of Education, Department of Educational Sciences.
His educational background includes a Doctorate from Anadolu University's Institute of Educational Sciences (2007-2012), a Master's degree from Anadolu University's Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling (2005-2007), and a Bachelor's degree from Hacettepe University's Department of Psychology (1991-1995).
Prof. Akdoğan's research primarily focuses on psychological counseling, disability studies, and educational sciences. His work explores the relationships between inferiority feelings, mental health, social anxiety, and well-being, with particular attention to parents of children with disabilities and university students. He has developed several psychological assessment tools, including scales for measuring inferiority feelings and insight. His research often employs both qualitative and quantitative methodologies, with a strong emphasis on practical applications in educational and counseling settings. Recent publications demonstrate increasing attention to contemporary issues such as eco-anxiety and digital behavior among adolescents.

Prof. Akdoğan has supervised thesis work and has been involved in multiple research projects, particularly those focused on psychological support for parents of children with disabilities. His most significant projects include 'Psychological Support Model for Parents of Children with Disabilities' (2018-2020) funded by TUBITAK, and 'Design and Implementation of an Online Home Support Program for Parents of Children Diagnosed with Developmental Delay/Disability in Early Childhood' (2020-2021). He has also led institutional capacity building projects such as 'Strengthening 363 Special Education Preschool Staff Capacity in the Second Century of Our Republic' (2024-2027).
He has been actively involved with the Institute for Disabled Persons Research at Anadolu University, contributing to both research and practical applications in disability studies. His work bridges the gap between academic research and practical counseling interventions, particularly through group counseling approaches based on Adlerian and reality therapy principles. His scholarly contributions include multiple books on mental health in disabled persons, behavioral problems in elderly, and developmental support for children and adolescents.
