Raman Sundrum is the Distinguished University Professor and John S. Toll Professor of Physics at the University of Maryland. He joined UMD in 2010 after serving as faculty at Johns Hopkins University (2000–2010), where he held the Alumni Centennial Chair. His research focuses on particle physics, cosmology, and theoretical mechanisms involving extra dimensions, supersymmetry, and strongly coupled dynamics. He is renowned for co-developing the Randall–Sundrum models (1999), which revolutionized understanding of spacetime geometry and hierarchy problems in physics.
