Dr. Raman P. Singh is the Associate Dean for Engineering at OSU-Tulsa, Director of the Helmerich Research Center, and Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at Oklahoma State University. He holds the Helmerich Family Endowed Chair Professor of Engineering and concurrently serves as Professor in the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. His research focuses on failure mechanics of advanced materials, composite materials, and dynamic failure characterization. Dr. Singh has a Ph.D. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island and a B.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology.
His research has been funded by the National Science Foundation, NASA, and industry partners. He has authored/co-authored numerous journal publications and holds two patents. Dr. Singh is an active member of Society of Experimental Mechanics (SEM) and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), serving as an Associate Technical Editor for Experimental Mechanics.
Research interests include polymer nanocomposites, epoxy material systems, and environmental degradation mechanisms. His work emphasizes developing novel techniques for material failure analysis and advancing sustainable composites from recycled materials. He teaches courses in advanced composites, fatigue mechanics, and experimental mechanics.
Grants & Funding: Projects funded by NSF, NASA, Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science & Technology, and the U.S. Army Research Office. Labs & Facilities: Leads research at the Helmerich Advanced Technology Research Center, focusing on material innovation and failure analysis.
