Ram Dixit

Ram Dixit is Professor and Chair of Biology at Washington University. His research explores plant cell morphogenesis, focusing on how cortical microtubules regulate cell shape and cell wall assembly. Using Arabidopsis thaliana models, his laboratory combines molecular genetics, live-cell imaging, and computational simulations to study cytoskeletal organization and microtubule-mediated wall deposition.

Dixit teaches interdisciplinary courses including 'Cellular Transformations' that integrates biological principles with digital design. He holds a PhD from Cornell University and leads collaborations studying fundamental mechanisms of microtubule array formation and remodeling in response to developmental cues.

Recent publications examine microtubule-associated proteins, in vitro reconstitution of cytoskeletal dynamics, and novel methods for plant cell culture and mechanochemical analysis.
