Dr. Raluca Popp is a Senior Lecturer in Quantitative Politics at the University of Kent, holding roles as Co-Deputy of the Kent Q-Step Centre and Deputy Director of the South East Doctoral Training Arc (SEDarc). She joined Kent in 2019 after completing her PhD at the University of Exeter in 2018. Her research focuses on electoral behaviour, political representation, conflict analysis, and the application of Voting Advice Applications (VAAs) to study issue alignment in European elections. She is also affiliated with the Conflict Analysis Research Centre, where she employs experimental methods like conjoint analysis to explore citizen preferences for peace settlements.
Education: PhD in Political Science from the University of Exeter (2018).
Research Interests: Public opinion dynamics, quantitative methods, survey research, and party development. Her work bridges methodological innovation with substantive questions in conflict resolution and democratic representation.
Recent publications highlight methodological contributions to correcting campaign misinformation and analyzing EU voter-party linkages, alongside conflict studies applying conjoint experiments to divided societies. She actively supervises PhD students and teaches POLI6870 Political Research and Analysis.
