Ralph Katz holds dual academic roles as a Senior Lecturer at MIT Sloan School of Management and a Professor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Management at Northeastern University’s College of Business. With over 35 years of expertise, he focuses on managing innovation processes, technical professionals, and high-performing teams. His consulting work spans major organizations like Procter & Gamble, Lockheed Martin, and national laboratories. He teaches executive programs at MIT, Cal Tech, and IBM, and served as a visiting scholar at INSEAD (2003–04).
Education: BS in Mathematics and Physics (Carnegie Mellon University), MBA and PhD (Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania).
Research Interests: Innovation leadership, R&D management, technical team motivation, and organizational behavior. He authored seminal works such as The Human Side of Managing Technological Innovation (2004) and Managing Professionals in Innovative Organizations (1988).
