Ralph Gallucci is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Classics at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). He earned his Ph.D. in Greek and Roman History from UCLA in 1986, followed by postdoctoral fellowships at UCLA’s Clark Library and Yale’s Beinecke Library. His research focuses on Athenian democracy, Homeric epic tradition, and the interplay of memory, legend, and historical records in ancient Greece. He has also directed UCSB’s Freshman Summer Start Program (FSSP) for 18 years, supporting over 400 students annually. His teaching spans classical languages, humanities, and ancient history at institutions including Loyola Marymount, Penn, and UCA.
