Ralph Abrahams

Associate Professor Ralph Abrahams is affiliated with Monash University's Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering. He holds a PhD in Fracture Mechanics from UNSW (1990) and has served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at UNSW and Melbourne University. His 27-year career includes 8 years as Head of Postgraduate Research and spans research in laser cladding, friction stir processing, and structural integrity of aircraft materials. He has published over 220 journal articles, secured $4.5M in grants, and leads an advanced materials testing laboratory with specialized equipment like nano-scale tensile testing rigs.
