Meysam Haghshenas

Meysam Haghshenas is an Associate Professor at the University of Toledo in the Department of Mechanical, Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering. Prior to joining Toledo in June 2019, he served as an Assistant Professor at the University of North Dakota and held post-doctoral and industrial roles in Canada.

• Education: PhD in Mechanical Engineering (University of Waterloo), MSc in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering (Western University), BS in Industrial Metallurgical Engineering (University of Tehran), and a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the Centre for Advanced Materials Joining (University of Waterloo).

His research focuses on Fatigue and Fracture Mechanics, Micro/Nano-Mechanical Characterization of Materials, and Additive Manufacturing, with an emphasis on processing-structure-property relationships and advanced material deformation analysis.

He contributes to experimental research through leadership of the Failure, Fracture and Fatigue Laboratory (F3L) and the Micro/Nano-Mechanics Laboratory. His teaching portfolio includes courses in Fatigue and Fracture, Manufacturing Processes, Advanced Manufacturing, and Additive Manufacturing.
