Ralitsa Kostadinova

Ralitsa Kostadinova is an Associate Professor of Criminal Law at the Department of Law of New Bulgarian University (NBU), where she has held academic positions since 2001. She earned her Doctorate in Criminal Law from NBU in 2011, defending her dissertation on 'Transport Crimes,' later published as a monograph. Her academic roles include heading the Law Department since October 2024, directing the Master's Program in Law (2004–2013), and serving as editor-in-chief of the NBU Law Journal (2018–2021). She is a member of the International Criminal Law Association and the Bulgarian Association of Criminology.

Education: She graduated from the Faculty of Law at Sofia University 'St. Kliment Ohridski' in 2000 and completed her habilitation thesis on 'Conditional Sentencing in Bulgarian Criminal Law' (2019).

Research Interests: Focused on criminal law, transport crimes, penal policy, legal history, conditional sentencing, and counter-terrorism. Her work addresses topics like judicial sentencing practices, probation systems, and domestic violence legislation.
