Ralf Stetter

Ralf Stetter is a Professor in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Ravensburg-Weingarten University of Applied Sciences (RWU), where he has been teaching since the winter semester 2004/2005. He currently serves as Dean of Studies for Product Development in Mechanical Engineering (Master) and International Representative of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. Additionally, he has been project manager at the Steinbeis Transfer Center Automotive Systems since January 2006.

His academic qualifications include:

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Design and Development) from the Technical University of Munich, with diploma thesis work at Oregon State University, USA.
• Doctorate (2000) from the Technical University of Munich on 'Method Implementation in Integrated Product Development'.
• Habilitation (2024) from the University of Zielona Góra on 'Fault-tolerant design and control for intelligent technical systems'.

Prof. Stetter's research spans Product Development, Automotive Engineering, and Intelligent Technical Systems, with specialized focus on fault-tolerant design methodologies and control systems for automotive applications. His work bridges theoretical innovation with industrial implementation in vehicle development processes.

He held leadership roles as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering from 2006 to 2018 and has been a professorial member of the BW-CAR doctoral center since 2024, actively shaping doctoral education and research collaboration in automotive engineering.
