Ralf K. Wüstenberg

Prof. Dr. Ralf K. Wüstenberg is a full professor of Protestant Theology at Europa-Universität Flensburg since 2009, focusing on systematic and historical theology. He holds concurrent research professorships at the Universities of Cambridge and Stellenbosch, and has held visiting professorships at Union Theological Seminary (New York) and Freie Universität Berlin. He leads the European Wasatia Graduate School for Peace and Conflict Resolution and serves as Project Ambassador for the House of One interfaith initiative in Berlin. Ordained as a pastor (2003–2005), he has been a regular guest preacher at Berlin Cathedral since 2018.

• Doctorate in Theology (Dr. theol., 1995) from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.

Research Interests: Focus on reconciliation theology, interreligious dialogue (especially Christian-Islamic relations), Dietrich Bonhoeffer's theology, transitional justice, and the intersection of religion and secularity. His work bridges systematic theology with historical and comparative perspectives.
He has authored/edited 26 books, including influential works like *Islam As Devotion* and *The Political Dimension of Reconciliation*.

Key Contributions: Pioneered comparative studies on reconciliation mechanisms in post-apartheid South Africa and post-Wall Germany. His interfaith initiatives include developing dialogue models for Christian-Islamic encounters and promoting Bonhoeffer's ethical legacy in global contexts.

Labs/Teams: Directs the European Wasatia Graduate School, a transnational program addressing peacebuilding and conflict resolution through theological and social science perspectives.
