Darius Asghar-Zadeh

Darius Asghar-Zadeh is a Research Fellow at the Faculty of Catholic Theology, University of Bonn, where he has been affiliated since March 2022. His academic trajectory includes a Magister Artium (M.A.) in Catholic Theology, Islamic Studies, and English Studies from the University of Bamberg (2011), followed by a PhD in Comparative Theology from the University of Paderborn (2016, summa cum laude). He is currently pursuing habilitation on Relational Ontology and Interreligious Theology.

His research explores:

• Comparative Theology: Christian-Muslim theological anthropology and hermeneutics
• Interreligious Dialogue: Peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and theological diplomacy
• Systematic Theology: Islamic Kalām, Christian dogmatics, and intercultural medical ethics
• Philosophical Theology: Revelation, soteriology, and divine action across traditions

Publications focus on interfaith hermeneutics, with recurring themes of Quranic Christology, theological anthropology, and comparative soteriology. His works frequently employ systematic analysis of Islamic and Christian texts to advance dialogue frameworks.

Professional roles include prior postdoctoral positions at the University of Münster (2018-2021), where he contributed to the DFG project Jesus im Koran, and teaching assignments at the University of Bamberg.
