Rakesh Rao

Rakesh Rao is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Newborn Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine. His research focuses on neonatal critical care, particularly hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, congenital diaphragmatic hernia, and ECMO applications.

He leads multicenter studies on neonatal outcomes and contributes to consortiums like the Children’s Hospitals Neonatal Consortium. Clinical expertise includes pulmonary hypertension management and retinopathy of prematurity.
