Rajeev Gupta

Rajeev Gupta is a Professor in the Department of Physics at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur with expertise in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics. His research focuses on ferroelectric materials, nanomaterials, and spectroscopic techniques, with significant contributions to the understanding of magnetoelectric phenomena and material properties at the nanoscale.

Dr. Gupta earned his PhD from the Indian Institute of Science Bangalore in 2000, following an M.Sc. in Physics from IIT Kanpur in 1993 and a B.Sc. in Physics from St. Stephen's College, Delhi in 1991. With an h-index of 15 and an average citation count exceeding 20 per paper, his scholarly impact is substantial in the field of condensed matter physics.

His research program has explored several critical areas including nanoscale ferroelectricity in magnetoelectric materials, thin film heterostructures for sensor applications, and the behavior of ruthenate compounds under external stimuli such as magnetic fields and pressure. Dr. Gupta has been recognized with the L A Meera Memorial Medal for the best Ph.D. thesis and has served on the National organizing committee of the International Conference on Raman Spectroscopy 2013 held in Bangalore, India.
