Raj R. Kallu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mining and Metallurgical Engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR). He is affiliated with the Mackay School of Earth Sciences and Engineering. His primary roles include teaching and research in mining engineering, with a focus on geo-mechanics, mine ventilation, and rock fragmentation.

Research Interests: Design and analysis of underground/surface excavations, instrumentation, numerical modeling of complex rock masses, empirical design methods, and rock fragmentation. He also focuses on mine ventilation systems and advanced mining rock mechanics.
Courses Taught: Rock Mechanics (MINE 448/648), Advanced Mining Rock Mechanics (MINE 701V), Rock Excavation (MINE 445), and Mine Environmental Control (MINE 344).
