Rainer Helmut Dumke is an Associate Professor at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, and Deputy Director of the Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT@NTU). He holds dual affiliations with the School of Physical & Mathematical Sciences (Division of Physics & Applied Physics) and CQT@NUS. His roles include serving as Assistant Chair for Facilities, IT, Safety & Health. Dumke earned his PhD in Physics from Leibniz University in Hanover, Germany (2003), followed by a Humboldt Fellowship at NIST (USA). His research focuses on quantum technology, ultra-cold atoms, and hybrid quantum systems, particularly exploring superconducting atom chips and atomtronics.
**Education & Career**: PhD (Dr. rer. nat.) in Physics from Leibniz University (2003). Postdoctoral research at NIST (2003–2005), Max Planck Research Group (2005–2006), and NTU since 2006. Recipient of the prestigious Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship (2003).
**Research Interests**: Quantum hybrid systems (e.g., charge qubit-atom interactions), superconducting atom chips for trapping ultra-cold atoms, precision measurements (e.g., atomic magnetometry), and atomtronics (ring-shaped Bose-Einstein condensates). Key projects include developing portable atom interferometers for gravity sensing and realizing superconducting-atom interfaces for quantum information.
