Dr. Raimund Schneider is a researcher in the Department of Soil Science at the Faculty VI - Spatial and Environmental Sciences, University of Trier. With a career spanning over three decades at Trier, he previously held an Adjunct Professor position (1999-2003) at the University of Manitoba's Natural Resources Institute.
- Teaching: Soil physics, mechanics, micromorphology, and mapping
- Key Research: Combating soil compaction through detection/remediation strategies, optimizing soil water balance, implementing decentralized flood protection via modified land use, and advancing environmental education initiatives
Publication Trends: Focuses on mechanical soil degradation mechanisms, restoration techniques for post-mining sites, and sustainable land use frameworks across agricultural, forestry, and residential contexts. His work spans both theoretical soil science and applied ecological interventions.
Projects: Leads investigations into tree root regeneration after soil amelioration, widespread agricultural water retention systems (WARELA), and heavy machinery impacts on forest soils. His "Wine and Soil" exhibition demonstrates environmental education outreach.
