Ragnhild Meland is a Research Fellow (PhD candidate) at the Department of Teacher Education and School Research, University of Oslo. She is affiliated with the Faculty of Educational Sciences and part of the Curriculum Studies, Leadership and Educational Governance (CLEG) research group. Her research focuses on the interplay between law and pedagogy, particularly in curriculum reforms and educational policy. She holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership (2022) and a Bachelor’s in Christian Studies (2003).
Before her academic role, Meland worked for many years as an associate professor (lektor) in upper secondary schools and served as a department head, overseeing guidance, university-school collaborations, and internship programs. She teaches on the Master’s Program in Educational Leadership and the Principal’s Education Program, covering courses such as governance in education, leadership, and legal aspects of management.
Meland’s PhD project explores the function of curricula as regulatory instruments, emphasizing policy-to-practice transitions in educational systems.
