Ragna Stalsberg

Ragna Stalsberg is an Associate Professor in Health Sociology at NTNU's Department of Circulation and Imaging within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. She has been employed at the Radiography Department since 2006 and holds a PhD in (Community) Medicine (2021) and a Cand. in Political Sociology (NTNU 2001). Her research focuses on social inequality in health, professional identity development in health professions, and physical activity disparities. She leads the TverrProf interdisciplinary research group exploring professional identity formation in healthcare education.

Stalsberg teaches research methodology courses for radiography students and contributes to cross-disciplinary programs like TverrSam. Her work bridges sociology, education, and healthcare, emphasizing equitable healthcare practices and interprofessional collaboration. She has published widely on topics including physical activity in marginalized populations, soccer gender equity, and breast cancer survivorship.

Her recent studies include qualitative investigations into Bangladeshi manual workers' physical activity patterns and quantitative analyses of professional identity development among healthcare students. She also explores CT imaging's role in COVID-19 prognosis and innovative ultrasound supervision techniques in university settings.
