Raghad Tawalbeh serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's College of Nursing, based at the Ziemer Clinical Simulation Center. She teaches simulation-based clinical skills while maintaining active practice as a registered nurse in cardiac and telemetry units, ensuring her academic work remains clinically grounded.
Her educational credentials include a PhD in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, an MSN in Advanced Adult Health Care from Jordan University of Science and Technology, and a BSN from the same institution.
Dr. Tawalbeh's research centers on adult and older adult health with dual emphases on cardiac care/rehabilitation and dementia nursing. She investigates clinical outcomes, health system variability, and evidence-based practice integration to reduce hospital readmissions and improve quality of life. Her work critically examines how frailty and uncertainty impact care for cognitively impaired older adults using mixed-methods and qualitative approaches.
Her recent publications reveal a strong interdisciplinary trajectory connecting nursing practice, patient outcomes, and health policy. Key themes include cardiac rehabilitation efficacy, dementia care challenges, and health services optimization for vulnerable populations, demonstrating consistent focus on translating research into clinical practice.
Scientific recognition includes:
- Chancellor’s Graduate Student Award for Summer, UW-Milwaukee, School of Nursing (2021–2022)
- Honorable Mention Poster Award, Eta Nu Chapter, Sigma Theta Tau International
- 1st Place Poster Award, 8th Annual Sigma Theta Tau Poster Symposium (2023)
Her academic appointments include Graduate Teaching Assistant (50%) from 2021-2023 and Lecturer (50%) in 2023 at UWM's College of Nursing. Current clinical practice in cardiac units directly informs her teaching methodology and research priorities, creating a seamless academic-practice integration.
At the Ziemer Clinical Simulation Center, she develops and leads high-fidelity simulation scenarios that replicate complex cardiac and dementia care situations, preparing nursing students for real-world clinical decision-making through evidence-based training protocols.
