Raffaella Gerboni serves as a Course Collaborator and Domain Expert in Nuclear Plants at the Technical Services Office within the Department of Energy (DENERG) at Politecnico di Torino. Her part-time role involves teaching graduate courses including Safety and Risk Analysis, Environmental Impact Assessment and Life Cycle Assessment, and Risk Analysis across multiple engineering programs.
Her research focuses on sustainable energy systems with specialized interests in:
- Hydrogen production, storage, and safety technologies
- Life cycle assessment of energy infrastructure
- Risk analysis for nuclear and renewable systems
- Conversion of offshore platforms for energy transition
- Biomaterial applications in energy engineering
She contributes to significant EU-funded projects including IMAGHYNE (maximizing green hydrogen potential in Europe) and co-developed the SEASTAR-WT Wind Tunnel experimental facility. Gerboni also co-invented a national patent for temperature-dependent gas-permeable membranes.
