Raffaele PESENTI

Raffaele PESENTI is a Full Professor of Operations Research at the Department of Management, Ca' Foscari University of Venice. He serves as Rector's Delegate for Teaching Calendars, member of the Scientific Committee of the Center for Studies on Port Economics and Management (VSM), and part of the University Quality Assurance Committee (PQA). His research focuses on complex systems optimization, with applications in transportation/logistics, biology, and production planning. He holds a PhD in System Science and has held academic positions at multiple Italian universities.

Primary research interests include logistics network optimization, consensus problems in distributed systems, air/sea/port traffic management, and biological network modeling. He has contributed to prestigious journals like IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control and Transportation Science. Teaching responsibilities include courses on Data Analytics, Managerial Decision Making, and Statistics across undergraduate and graduate programs.

Recent projects involve EU-funded initiatives on sustainable passenger transport (CROSSMOBY, MIMOSA), Venice port logistics optimization, and smart city mobility solutions. His work integrates mathematical modeling, computational tools, and real-world applications in transportation and environmental systems.
