Rafael Stylianou

Rafael Stylianou serves as Scientific Coordinator at the RIMS Office and CaSToRC (Computation-based Science & Technology Research Center) at the Cyprus Institute. He specializes in research and innovation project management, focusing on securing funding from national and European programs to support the Institute's initiatives. His expertise spans materials science, additive manufacturing, and industrial collaboration.

Prior roles include a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Cyprus (Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Department), where he contributed to additive manufacturing research, and a research assistant at the University of Leoben (Austria), where his doctoral studies centered on optimizing hard coatings for cutting tools in partnership with CERATIZIT Austria GmbH. He also gained industry experience via an internship and master’s thesis work at Robert Bosch GmbH (Germany).

His interdisciplinary background bridges academic research with industry applications, emphasizing technology optimization and innovation.
